While a Certificate of Competency is not required to operate these machines, operators MUST be trained in safe operating procedures. The use of such equipment, if not handled correctly, can lead to serious injuries including manual handling and crush injuries.

Course Overview: If you’re experiencing issues such as damaged roller doors, stock losses, near misses, or unsafe forklift use, this training is designed to help employers demonstrate compliance with current duty of care requirements under the WHS Act & Regulations 2017.

Course Content:

The course covers the following critical skills and knowledge:

• Legislation: Learn about the current laws and regulations surrounding the safe operation of pallet trucks.

• Hazard Identification & Control: Identify hazards associated with pallet truck operation and implement effective controls.

• Pre-start & Operational Checks: Conduct essential pre-start-up, operational, load-moving, and shutdown checks.

• Safe Load Handling: Learn how to safely manoeuvre and place loads, ensuring visibility in both forward and reverse.

• Stability Triangle: Understand the concept of the stability triangle and how it applies to forklift operations.

• Employer Feedback: Gain the ability to provide useful feedback to your employer on operational practices.
