CPCWHS1001 – Prepare to Work Safely in the Construction Industry

Eligibility & Requirements:

  • Must be at least 14 years old.
  • Must provide 100 points of identification.
  • A Unique Student Identifier (USI) is required. Visit www.usi.gov.au to apply.

This course provides general Work Health and Safety (WHS) induction training required for the New South Wales (White Card). It’s delivered weekly either at our training facility or your high school with prior notice.

Course Overview:
This unit focuses on the mandatory WHS training needed before starting construction work. Participants will gain awareness and knowledge of WHS legislative requirements to ensure safe work practices.

The course includes:

  • Identifying and reporting common construction hazards.
  • Understanding risk control measures.
  • Responding to potential incidents and emergencies.
  • Proper selection and use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Learning Outcomes:

  1. Identify WHS legislative requirements for construction work.
  2. Recognise construction hazards and implement risk control measures.
  3. Understand WHS communication and reporting processes.
  4. Respond to incidents and emergencies.

Course Details:

  • Delivered face-to-face over a minimum of 6 hours, as required by SafeWork NSW.
  • Provided by Registered Training Organisation (RTO) 91583.
  • Book online

Identification Requirements:

  • 100 points of ID, including:
    • Full Birth Certificate, Passport, or Australian Citizenship certificate = 70 points each.
    • Photo ID (e.g. Driver’s License, Firearms License) = 40 points each.
    • Other documents (e.g. Medicare card, utility bill) = 25 points each.
  • Special ID provisions for students: School photo ID or a letter from the school confirming name, address, and date of birth.

Training Materials:

  • Animated PowerPoint presentations.
  • Student workbooks and handouts.
  • Videos and demonstrations.
  • Practical exercises.

Cost & Location:

  • The price includes assessment and processing by SafeWork NSW.
  • Courses are held weekly at Unit 5 / 21 Groves Ave, Mulgrave NSW

  • Statement of Attainment for CPCWHS1001.
